Obstetrician Dr Vicki Nott cares for women throughout their pregnancy and birth, and is qualified to look after both uncomplicated and high risk pregnancies. Vicki is also a Gynaecologist who practices in all areas of gynaecology, with a particular interest in pre-pregnancy counselling.
We asked Dr Nott to tell us a bit more about herself:
I trained as a doctor at Melbourne University and St Vincent’s Hospital Medical School. For a while I thought I wanted to be a plastic surgeon (neat stitching and scars!), but during my years as a junior surgical trainee at St Vincent’s, I kept thinking about how I had loved my obstetric term as a medical student at the Royal Womens Hospital.
In 1991 I transferred to the Obstetrics and Gynaecology specialist training program at the Royal Womens, and the rest (via four years in Australia, six years in the UK and the gold medal in my specialists exams) is history!
Although I am a fully trained specialist in both Obstetrics and Gynaecology, I choose to concentrate on looking after pregnant women, and those couples planning a baby or having trouble conceiving. I love getting to know you and your partner and family, and being a part of this special time in your life. I look after both low and high risk women. My aim is to make sure you are as informed as you wish to be, do our best together to achieve the type of birth you hope for and above all, keep you and your baby safe.
